## Drinks explained
- Espresso: A concentrated shot of coffee brewed by forcing hot water through finely ground beans. Everything else on this list starts here.
- Americano: Espresso topped with hot water: the strength of espresso, the length of a drip coffee.
- Macchiato: Espresso “marked” with a small spoonful of milk foam.
- Cortado: Equal parts espresso and steamed milk, with very little foam. Small, balanced and strong.
- Flat white: Espresso with velvety microfoam and no tall cap of foam, so the coffee stays forward.
- Cappuccino: Roughly equal thirds of espresso, steamed milk and airy foam.
- Latte: The most milk of the classics: espresso, lots of steamed milk and a thin layer of foam.
